- Shell is already a willing and able player in the energy transition. We see commercial opportunity in participating in the global drive to provide more and cleaner energy solutions. A significant contribution Shell can make to the energy transition right now is to grow the role of natural gas to fuel transport, heat and light homes, and power industries.

- We will seek to achieve this target in three ways. First, we aim to be net zero on all the emissions from the manufacture of all our products, by 2050. Second, we plan to reduce the carbon intensity, or Net Carbon Footprint, of the energy products we sell by 100% by 2050, in step with society. And third, we aim to help our customers decarbonise. We also expect to pivot, over time, towards serving the businesses that, by 2050, are net-zero emissions themselves.
